WHAT WE

BELIEVE

Scripture:

We believe that the entire Bible is nothing more and nothing less than the Word of God to us today and that it is presented to us without error. It is the final authority for faith and life and it is the ultimate truth for our lives and for eternity.

The Trinity:

We believe in one God who exists in all eternity, unchanging and in three different and distinct persons: God the Father who created all that exists, God the Son Jesus who lived, died and was raised from the dead for the forgiveness of our sins and God the Holy Spirit who gifts us with faith and convicts us of our sin. All three are equal in power and glory and are worthy and deserving of our worship and praise.

God the Father:

We believe in God as the Father and Creator of all that exists. We believe that God has always existed and will always exist. We believe that God is never changing and that the Bible is His word to us. God has made it clear that it is His greatest desire that every human would put their faith and trust in Him.

Jesus Christ:

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son. He was born a human child to a virgin named Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit in order to reveal the love of God to all humankind. In His death on the cross he paid the price for our sin and in His resurrection from the grave He defeated death and the hold that sin has over us. God gave Him the power to become the Savior of all who will believe in Him. Jesus now resides in glory and honor at the right hand of God’s throne in heaven and will come again to judge the living and the dead.

The Holy Spirit:

We believe in the Holy Spirit as the third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is the real existence of God’s power and presence among us. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts us of our sin and moves us to desire a right relationship with God through Jesus. We believe that the Holy Spirit gifts each and every believer with spiritual gifts that are intended by God to grow and strengthen the Christian church on earth.

Salvation:

We believe that the only way that we are able to be in a right relationship with God is to believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as our Lord and Savior. We believe that in Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross for our sins, he paid the price of death required by our sins. Salvation occurs only when we place our faith in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as sufficient payment, once and for all, for our sins. We believe in the physical and literal resurrection of Jesus from the dead.

Baptism:

We believe that the most obedient way to perform baptism is by full body immersion. We believe that baptism is done after one responds to the Gospel and puts their faith in Jesus as their Lord And Savior and chooses to step out in faith and obedience to Jesus’ command that we "believe and be baptized". We believe that baptism is an expression of being alive in Christ. It is a public display, showing the world and the Church, that we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:4)  Baptism is not necessary for salvation. There is absolutely nothing that we can do to work or gain our way into Heaven. The scriptures are very clear that the only thing that is required for salvation is repentance (to turn from our sinful nature) and faith in the atoning sacrifice that Jesus provided for us on the cross.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended to the dead. On the third day He rose again; He ascended into heaven, He is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
